When you do actual bargaining on an FMS deal and not the silly JSF Partner Nation "best value" hope and dream...you have more influence on your own country's workshare.
Accent on US-Israel Alliance as IAI, Lockheed Launch F-35 Wing Line
Facility To Build 811 Wing Sets Under $2.5B Industrial Deal
An F-35 production line for wings was inaugurated by Israel Aerospace Industries. From left, Yaacov Rozmann, director of operations for the Lahav Division; Patrick Dewar, Lockheed Martin International executive vice president; US Lt. Gen. Christopher Bogdan, the Pentagon's chief executive for the F-35 program; Dan Shapiro, Washington's Israel ambassador; IAI Chairman Rafi Maor; Israel Defense Minister Moshe Ya'alon; and Haim Katz, a member of parliament and head of the IAI workers union. (Israel Ministry of Defense)
That's $2.5 billion less of workshare for those pain-in-the-ass (probably the words of some in the JPO office and LM) JSF Partner Nations that won't hurry up and buy lots of mistake-jets.
THAT is a big off-set. This deal is especially funny as the U.S. hands out $3B in mil-aid credits to Israel every year.
