“We see Russian activism once again rearing its head in the world, we see an America that backed away from a commitment made by the president of the United States in Syria, we see a country, our country, permitting even a thought of a terrorist state like Iran having nuclear capability,” Christie said. “It's unthinkable that the America that has led in the way that it has always led this world would permit that to happen. Yet we are sitting in a world, we are watching the vacuum that the lack of American leadership has created being filled and it is almost never filled by virtue, it is almost always filled by evil.”
First, no mention of U.S. "activism" in a place it has no business: Russia's back yard. An insurgent State Department helped with that.
Syria? Seriously? Operation:NOT IN MY NAME is already going on there with U.S. money backing shady factions of ill repute. Again, not in our interest. Syria doesn't have the ability to do anything like, oh, invade New Jersey.
Permitting Iran to have the bomb. Well, how did presidents from years ago interact with the Soviets, who had thousands?
I would say though that there have been some failures. When N. Korea did that artillery strike over a year ago and sunk that S. Korean patrol boat the U.S. response was weak dick. The U.S. should have dialed up every piece of air and naval power to send a message that one more wrong move and for better or worse, we would settle the issue of N. Korea's existence.
This president does not understand that ANY implied threat against Japan and S. Korea is enough to bring out the dogs.
"The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the inequities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men."
