MP count

When counting MPs, the Dutch may be on their way toward having two F-35s that will never see an operational squadron.

The Dutch--like others in the region--are down-sizing their military. The F-35 does not meet any  measure of being practical. It its too weak to use for high-end anti-access threats and too expensive to own and operate for other kinds of fighter missions.

By the numbers, the only affordable F-16 replacement for the Dutch is the Gripen.

Or, a lightly armed trainer for air-policing duties.

The Dutch will have an election later this year. The F-35 mistake-jet will be a hot-button issue.

Loved the comment from the Defence Minister who said dropping the F35 would be a mistake, as "Indudtry" would miss out on the opportunities regarding manufacturing parts.
WOW.

Or another options to replace the existing F-16A/B for the Dutch AF such as F-16V Viper (either Block 50/52 or Block 60/62), Eurofighter Typhoon or Dassault Rafale.

I hope to see the Dutch scrap the failed lemon (F-35A) project, that's if it ever happens. Going ahead with the JSF you're going to suffer the consequences with teething problems etc etc.

Also Eric, I've found another updated report about F-35 fighters part 1 and part 2 - US Defence Analysts: purchasing the F-35 would be a huge mistake for South Korea from Winslow Wheeler.
