Soon, it is budget time

Soon, the Australian government will release the annual budget.

A few points.

I don't care which party is in charge. If they are unwilling to submit balanced budgets that also pay down the debt, they are helping to damage this country.

While it is possible, you won't see Defence cut much. They will continue their spend-thrift ways...for no useful combat capability.

For example: Defence ran out and bought 2 of the remaining production C-17s.

$1B... for 2 aircraft.

That, we did not need.

The navy is rudderless in vision and spending.

So is the RAAF.

Things like huge numbers of flag ranks will be like last year and the year before, and, so on.

Any predictions on aircraft cost per flying hour?

If we reduced the annual Defence budget by $10B, you would still have $19B.

We could have a useful Defence on $19B per year.

That assumes, good leadership.
