These people are asking the wrong question about Iraq's M-1 tanks.

It is the wrong tank. It is not friendly to a monkey-see-monkey-do training model.

It is complex.It is a logistical nightmare.

So asking it it will survive X-threat is dumb if the system and doctrine are the wrong match for the war being fought. Although I can't think of any war I would want an M-1 in.

So far, most of the U.S. training of Iraq forces has produced a situation where Iraqis run in the face of danger.

A new order of M-1 tanks only helps the war profiteers. It will contribute nothing to defend Iraq (whatever defines that government).
