More used?

For Defence, is it cheaper for Australia to go used over the long haul?

What kind of aircraft, ships and land equipment is out there that requires minimal millions for a useful defence platform capability.

We have already seen this with the HMAS Choules and M-1 tanks as two examples. But what else is out there?

You would have a shorter life-cycle on some of the used gear depending on what it was however; would it get the job done?

Can the contract be done? "I want this weapon system delivered for x-amount of millions in working order."

Some opportunities I see:

-UH-1 family of helicopters.
-Various MRAPs from U.S. downsizing.
