Super Hornet Block II radar fix-up

I would hope Defence already has some answers for this. This is one of those "at the mercy of the foreign vendor things".

And...the fact that no credible analyis was done by Defence on the Super Hornet before it was selected in late 2006 on a whim: a month or so after the then RAAF boss told our elected officials that if the F-35 was delayed, they could keep the F-111 and legacy Hornet maintained for some years. In other words, there was no credible reason to order the Super Hornet.

USN paying for hardware changes, but the radar’s software weaknesses are still a problem, 7 years after introduction.

June 12/14: Boeing in St. Louis, MO receives $10.2 million for cost-plus-fixed-fee delivery order to conduct an engineering change in the APG-79′s 5th and 6th Receiver Channel Wiring. Boeing is, of course, the F/A-18 Super Hornet family’s manufacturer.
