First mistake-jet goes to depot at Cherry Point

The F-35 isn't even close to being in final, go-to-war trim and we have the first one--an early F-35B--going to Cherry Point for fixes based on design flaws.

Cherry Point will be the depot for various airframe and liftfan work. Both periodic and mistakes in manufacture.

A bit of history of the design over optimism from this LM PR in 2007:

"The completion of CDR (critical design review) is a sign that each F-35 variant is mature and ready for production."

Must be a different definition of "mature" compared to what the rest of the planet thinks it means.

Rent-seekers are also happy.

From this, it will be difficult to see how many DOD civilian depot workers will be involved.

In 2008, depot work for both mistake jets and real finished jets, was projected to look something like this.

Parking combat ready ships, squadrons, brigades, all for the Just So Failed.

The F-35 program is doing a great job at destroying our national defense capability.

And, it is making the seriously flawed F-102 program, look greater, day-by-day.
