How ironic to think how Industry (and actual medium-term deterrence) would be better off today, if industry had alternatively been continually producing evolved F-15E+ and F-16 units, since the late 90's and for remainder of the decade. Lessons learned (hopefully) for the next-generation of acquisition process strategy and policy makers.
