Anything hinting at useful for LM's LCS doesn't happen until FMS
It looks like in order to get anything useful out of the faulty Littoral Combat Ship program you have to take a look at Lockheed Martin's FMS marketing of the "Surface Combat Ship".
Take a look at the entire video.

Beautiful music and cinematography work, I'll give 'em that.
But I heard the word 'affordable' in there. How affordable are we talk about? As in compared to a fully equipped Burke? Affordable as in compared to other heavy corvettes on the market? (I'm assuming the Air defense missile planned is the ESSM and not SM-2/6? Any anti-surface warfare capability in the combat ship version)?
I just can't see how the non-combat version of the ship at around $600m +/- plus equipment can be competitive, if equipped in the AEGIS and VLS configured version?
Why not replace USN frigates with the combat version of LCS too?
I was under the impression that the LM LCS design was bumping up against its weight and power limits already. The gentleman on the video speaks of the SCS' high speed. Can they really afford to add Aegis, vertical launch missiles, an oerkilon 35mm cannon, a hull mounted sonar and torpedoes in the same hull and expect to maintain similar performance. If nothing else it seems like they would be adding a lot of top weight (affecting stability?), along with a bunch of addtional crew-members all of which implies increased demands for electricity generation, propulsion power, and accomodation space.
Presumably the range issue that the US Navy is experiencing is less of a problem for the potential buyers in Dubai.
I swear. the navy is about to get their ass kicked big time in next major war. They refuse to move forward and keep building totally unacceptable ship.
Take this LCS ship. They should have built Visby class corvette. 40 crew, double the load multi purpose stealth attack boat.
Instead they are building super expensive leaky aluminum can.
If you scroll down the link below you will find that.
It’s telling that brochures for the International LCS versions offered by each team feature a major radar capability boost via the small SPY-1F AEGIS system, and are armed with torpedoes, anti-ship missiles and vertical-launch system (VLS) cells. General Dynamics’ trimaran offers 16 tactical length VLS cells for up to 64 RIM-162 ESSM anti-air missiles or VL-ASROC anti-submarine launchers, and adds torpedo tubes. Lockheed Martin’s international version, which attracted some interest from Israel before cost issues intervened, has 16 strike length VLS cells that could also accommodate anti-ship missiles, or land attack missiles.

So the LM LCS would offer SM2,3,6, and Harpoon capabilites.
