U.S. Post Office going broke... bail out time?

Post is a valuable government service, but not sustainable in its present incarnation (at least in the US.) Labor costs are the main issue. Unrealistic staffing and compensation levels, with a bit of social engineering thrown in the mix, make the situation untenable. Another issue is too many rural post offices. Solution? Cut delivery service to five days a week, close underutilized and redundant facilities, convert the pension plan into a savings plan, and normalize health coverage. And decertify the union. Problem solved.
