U.S. Military Procurement Thinking in one quote

(image: APA)

It is sad that it has come to this:

“It’s entirely possible to deliver all of the deployability capabilities without the engine capability, but that’s a decision that the air force will have to make.”

Delay, delay.

No deal on LRIP batches and other delays; for an aircraft that will get shot down in combat. That is, for those fit to fly.

The F-35 Joint Program Office may be broken up (as a parlor game idea in Congress and DOD). I would suspect because so many legal problems don't mesh, all the way across management of the program. This might avoid worse pitfalls; like a DOJ task-force after it all falls down.

And about those LRIP deals?

All illegal.

The jet is still in DOD Procurement Milestone-B.

Think about that.
