Defense looks at getting $74B slush fund

I don't mind defense spending.

I mind dumb defense spending.


THE TOPLINE: The House Budget Committee on Tuesday unveiled a $1.07 trillion GOP spending vision for 2017 with $551 billion for the Pentagon's base budget.

Another $74 billion would be for overseas contingency operations -- an increase from the $59 billion requested by the administration for the war fund.

However it combines the Pentagon and State Department OCO requests, still leaving a shortfall in defense spending, according to defense hawks
