Remember when the Virginia was to be affordable?

The Seawolf submarine was clipped because in the new, happy, post, Cold War period, we needed an "affordable" submarine.

I like the Virginia class, but not at this price. And yes I know they keep trying to stuff follow-on builds with more stuff. Too much stuff I say...
