U.S. F-15E Strike Eagles and T-38 Talons are playing the roles of adversaries. The U.S. Airborne Warning and Control System also is taking part in the exercise, which involves about 225 American, 125 British and 150 French personnel.
So, basically the event won't meet the goal of the exercise.
The U.S., France and Great Britain's most advanced fighter jets are training together for the first time during an exercise out of Langley Air Force Base that is testing their ability to succeed in an environment they would face in a conflict against advanced nations like Russia or China.
Duh. For example, in order for the F-35 to do what its fan-base claims (take on modern IADS even if that was never part of the JSF Joint Operational Requirements Document "JORD"), the jet will have to beat the Typhoon and F-22 (playing red-air) in practice combat.
Not an F-15E or T-38.
As for the exercise, note that the F-22, Typhoon and Rafale are on the same side.
Previous agreements where the F-22 "fights" other aircraft stated that, for the Typhoon, the circuit-breaker for its infra-red search and track, had to be turned off.
The Rafale?
