Japan--Australian sub facilities more advanced than ours

As we have seen, the Collins replacement process appears to be a rigged game.

How many seats on his own team is the PM willing to lose in order to go with a Collins replacement plan that involves not building the subs in Australia?

Consider the following from today's The Australian.

Beside team Tony's previous view that the Swedes are horrible with subs...it doesn't appear to be that way now that Japan has entertained the idea of teaming up with them.

Oh dear. How strange.
