The entitled class

Defence continues to waste our money.

It is our money. Not theirs.

They are getting two more C-17s. At this rate of camel's nose under the tent, maybe more.

The justification rides on Middle East ops.

This is a bad justification because Australia has a small military and what small size that it is, needs to be used in training and readiness for any regional operations. That is, our area of the Pacific Rim.

You go to war with the Defence leadership you have. Not particularly the one you want, or desire. All 170-some flag ranks.

And their comfort-castles.

Our current Defence leadership is a shambles.

If anything, their incompetence empowers future enemies instead of deterring them.

The C-17 is a poor choice for strategic airlift. It's design requirement is as a theater airlifter for roll-on-roll-off cargo. It is not a C-5. It is not an AN-124. It is not a 747 cargo aircraft. What is needed to go from Australia to theater hubs around the world (if one wants to engage in that useless idea), is a cargo 747. (PDF)

We can't not afford the incompetence and spend-thrift nature of the ADF leadership.

Currently the state of Queensland is facing around $80B in debt. The federal budget is well over $300B in debt.

The federal government continues to spend more than it takes in. It has been years since the last balanced budget was submitted.

All of this, is self-destructive behaviour.

That we fund.
