Combat thunderstorm - F-35 unlikely to survive battle

Down here you should be reading Defence Today.

It is the unofficial mouth-piece of the Entrenched Defence Bureaucracy (select access in return for happy-words  "journalism") so there are some good quotes out of it. It is usually on the newsstand for $7.95. A deal for the info provided.

What is interesting is many articles have little cries for help in them. Sometimes like duress words from a prisoner forced to make a propaganda statements against there will.

Peter Layton has an interesting article in the December 2014 issue that qualifies mostly as F-35 fan-mag material.

The article has a lot of holes in it. The first being the wrong theory that the F-35 will survive. The truth is that against emerging and some existing threats the F-35 is likely to get shot down.

The F-35 fan-base loves to think everything will get solved in beyond-visual-range combat and the jet will be victorious.

War being messy, it doesn't (and never has), always, worked out that way.

On page 8 we have this from Peter:

Without internal carry hi- maneuver dogfight missiles and being a slug of a jet vs. the competition, you can change 'may' to 'will'. The rest of us that actually follow the program vs. fan-talking-points knew this.

Within visual-range combat (and sophisticated enemy integrated air defenses), the F-35 is likely dead.

This is the exact opposite way to assure Australian air domination within the region.

That dream, has waived bye, bye.
