It is worse than that Eric because your 'days of fuel'' refers to all fuel which is still largely petrol whereas the ADF now uses almost exclusively two fuels:
1. Aviation turbine fuel (AVTUR and AVCAT) and
2. Diesel (automotive diesel).
At the moment Russell Offices works on the assumption that it can impose fuel rationing and takes what it needs from the domestic economy but, given its dependence on just 2 fuels, they fail to realise that in any emergency they would be in direct competition with the needs of the airlines and domestic transport industry.
How long would Australia function without airfreight and the domestic transport industry? A couple of days?.
