YouTube video: Initial night testing with the F-35C on the Nimitz.
This is all tip of the iceberg stuff.
The bigger questions will be:
1. Does this aircraft bring more capability to the fleet than anything you can do with a Super Hornet? (Including safety)
2. How many traps will this airframe be good for?
3. Maintenance on-board ship.
4. Sortie rates / reliability.
5. How will the Navy address the fact that the Navy is fielding a carrier air wing that will not be able to take on emerging threats?
6. Why should America pay for two different types of tactical strike aircraft in the carrier air wing. Including #5 above?
That will do for a start.
