Total F-35 low-rate-initial-production aircraft, for all players thus far up to LRIP-8 puts us on the hook for 193 F-35s of all types.

Yet, the development progress, that is, things that actually work on the jet, doesn't justify this many aircraft.

They said concurrency--the heart of the JSF plan--became "acquisition malpractice".
