Looks interesting. I don't know how complex AIP is to refurb and maintain. It will be curious to see how the Australian Defence people involved with subs observe all this. Is this battery tech an opportunity for Australia? Is this new configuration a weight saver too?
I am of the opinion that the SEA1000 requirement needs to be trashed and restarted from a blank piece of paper. The requirement describes capability only, realistically achieved, with, a U.S., Virginia-class nuke attack sub.
