F-35 production...

I will just leave it with a Don comment in a previous post:

Ft. Worth has production problems. From recent to past--

Oct 20, 2014 (Reuters) - Lockheed Martin Corp on Monday confirmed that it had delivered just 22 of 36 F-35 fighter jets promised to the U.S. government this year, but had a plan to complete work on the remaining 14 warplanes over the next two months.

Oct 2, 2013 Pentagon report rips Texas F-35 fighter jet plant

WASHINGTON — A new report from the Pentagon’s internal watchdog strongly criticizes managers and workers at the Fort Worth, Texas, plant that makes the F-35 fighter jet for an alleged lackadaisical attitude that it says has led, on average, to more than 200 repairs for each aircraft and cost taxpayers millions of dollars.

Jun 5, 2012 F-35 production quality worries Senate panel (Reuters) -

The U.S. Senate Armed Services Committee on Tuesday questioned the quality of production on the Lockheed Martin Corp F-35 Joint Strike Fighter, citing a "potentially serious issue" with its electronic warfare capability.

web comments, 2012:
Mr. heath was finally replaced by Larry Lawson earlier this year. So far Mr. Lawson has shown no interest in trying to undo the disaster that has become the Ft. Worth plant. but even if he did. The loss of all the experienced engineers, management, planners, etc.. it would take a generation to get back to the place we were in experience and skills. take a good hard look. This is why manufacturing in america is dying. Complete incompetence on behalf of an arrogant corporation who believes they know everything.

There are two major differences in the two programs.st Lockheed Martin steadfastly refuses to use any lessons learned with the F-16 or F-22 to improve production on the F-35. Secondly the layers of management between the F-16 and F-35 increased. In 1986 There were 5 levels from lowest worker to Executive VP, now there are at least 12 levels and they have a VP for everything from production to VP over Under water basket weaving.
