UK goes ahead with 2nd helicopter carrier

JSF Partner Nations continue their acts of denial of the F-35 as a bad idea.

British Prime Minister David Cameron said on Friday that a second aircraft carrier, currently being built, would be brought into service, ending speculation about its future.

"This will ensure that we will always have one carrier helicopter carrier available, 100 percent of the time," Cameron said in a speech at a NATO summit in Wales.

Fortunately the RN has no problems with making ends meet in regard to finances. Oh, wait...


Brittish warships could soon be at sea for up to nine months at a time because of budget cuts and crew shortages.

The Royal Navy is in the grip of a manpower crisis, with a wave of departures leaving its fleets short of sailors. In an attempt to stem the losses, the Ministry of Defence (MoD) is spending almost £36m on “golden handcuff” payments to entice experienced engineers and technicians to stay in their jobs for another three years.
