The bad idea of using the ADF for Middle East missions

The current PM and his fan-base are happy to tell the public about sending off some military resources to help out with the Iraq debacle. ("RAAF lands in Iraq warzone" , 1 Sep 2014, The Australian)

A drop in the bucket.

From the Australian perspective, this is a waste of resources to fight terror.

Look at all of the transport aircraft and military capacity around the region including Turkey, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Oman and Southern Europe.

Australia's role should to continually shame those countries into getting off of their dead ass and using THEIR military to help as a baseline, provide humanitarian support to the displaced people that are being attacked by the ISIS murder cult.

Limited ADF resources should be used to train for anti-terror and other threats...

...for Australia's back yard / region.

One never knows when a bad terror or humanitarian event will happen locally.

We need to make sure our forces are ready and available to handle those events.

Not off somewhere on the other side of the globe.
