Operation's USELESS DIRT 1 and 2 meant that the USN slowed down clearance of a lot of weapons for the Super Hornet that had little to do with killing dirt insurgents.
Super Hornet operators are just now starting to catch up.

“The flight was a ‘load and carry‘ exercise rather than specific training for missions that the Super Hornet may be tasked to do.
“It was a confirmation flight that we could carry the missile and integrate it with the onboard weapon delivery systems,” GPCAPT Gray said.
So at sometime in the future, they will shoot some. This may help the clearance of SLAM-ER.
Currently in the USN, Harpoon and SLAM-ER are for classic Hornets.
