UPDATE (with DMO NACC gone native) Tonight is budget night

Today (Tuesday) is budget day in Australia. The new government will release its first budget; (hint: the Diet Coke of Conservatives (George Bush 1: "Read my lips, no new taxes").

Anywho, it will be interesting to see where all this goes for Defence and its 170-some flag-ranks. Hint 2: you only need a 1 star to lead about 3000 troops.

Do the ADF math on personnel.

The article Don found blathers on about a "fifth-generation fighter" that Australia wants to buy. Hint 3: Only the F-22 is a "fifth-generation fighter".

Marketing-speak or otherwise.

The article states some people associated with the F-35 may be let go.

Interesting.

Be great if it was everyone that ever walked into the NACC office.

The DMO's New Air Combat Capability Office is a Lockheed Martin sales office by any other name.

Gone native. Any Lockheed Martin talking point was good-to-go.

Rank traitors to all of Australia.

It will be interesting to see how brave the budget cutters will be with Defence.

There are whole weapon system communities that have no way in hell of contributing anything to the defence of the nation.

Cut that and the camp-followers for that weapon system go too thus saving the tax payer even more money.
