Funny too is all the alleged U.S. jobs. PW can do whatever it wants since the original plan of engine vendor choice is long dead.

Turkey's Undersecretariat for Defence Industries (SSM) announced on 20 May that it had signed a letter of intent with aeroengine maker Pratt & Whitney (P&W) for the establishment of a capability for final assembly, check-out, maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO), and upgrades of P&W F135 engines.
The F135 engines are for use in the Lockheed Martin F-35 Lightning II Joint Strike Fighter (JSF) aircraft. Turkey hopes the agreement, which is subject to approval by the US government, will help pave the way for a regional MRO centre for other F-35 operators.
At present, Israel is the only other country in the region to sign up to the F-35 programme.
Based on F-16 tradition--which Turkey has plenty of support ability--they will be very handy for maintenance and production when F-35s are sold to Egypt (snark).
