RAN on the way toward saving $40B

Various Entrenched Defence Bureaucracy cheerleaders have announced that the troubled Collins-class submarine program is out of the woods and is doing well reports The Australian (“Tick for subs lifts budget pressure”, Brendan Nicholson, 5-6 April 2014, page 1).

The upshot of this is that Australia is in no rush to make a replacement submarine decision.

This could save Australia $40 billion.

For now.

I am confident that the rent-seeking class will not let us off that easily.

Yet.

Many of these people do not understand that Australia is a massive entitlement society; it is in deep federal dept and this is not the year, oh, 2000.

The article doesn't go into much detail of what fixed the Collins program. For example, I still do not have an update on the fact that a few years ago, one of the six subs was being used for parts, never again to go to sea.

Another day, and platitude is what makes the parasites of your tax dollars keep the roulette wheel spinning.
