August 2014, which will mark the 100 year anniversary of the start of World War 1 isn't all that far off.
And, these people are nuts.
"NATO should call an immediate emergency session and weigh its options in the political, diplomatic, economic, and military dimensions."
The rest of the article goes downhill from there.
These neolib/neocon interventionists talk about NATO but what that really means is the U.S. because most of the NATO military capability is an underfunded paper-tiger. Not long ago, Europe had well over 1000 combat aircraft and was unable to do Libya by itself.
And today, the U.S. military is headed toward that path.
But even with that, there is no justification for the U.S. to get involved in the Ukraine.
The U.S. just warned Russia that they should not "interfere" in the Ukraine. If only the U.S would follow that advice.
I am curious how the U.S.federal government would react if a large rabble formed in DC and started to burn things (like what we have seen in Kiev) because they didn't like Obamacare; IRS corruption; domestic spying without a warrant; White House corruption; Congress corruption; DHS corruption; Benghazi et al; dumb and expensive foreign wars with no purpose, open borders; a defacto war on business; and a severe lack of U.S. Constitutional process?
The crisis in the Ukraine is of no business to the United States. For the geographically challenged it is in Russia's back yard.
U.S. participation in NATO has long outlived its usefulness. Today, because of short-sighted interventionists, membership in NATO is a potential national security risk to the United States.
There is nothing in the Ukraine worth starting a world war...in effect a European...World War over.
Because that is exactly what will happen if those in the Admiral Stavridis club keep going.
May sanity prevail.
