Can a Multiservice Fighter Program Succeed?

That 2002 piece stated right after the U.S. Navy cut their F-35 commitment by several hundred aircraft.
Today, that quote while interesting, is untrue. The author of that piece missed several things. Many at that time could not believe that poor program management and failure of the vendor to deliver on the promise is what is killing the jet. The author also used the F-35 as the last manned fighter meme; which is silly.
