Available budgets

The 72 aircraft requirement to replace classic RAAF Hornets is in trouble.

If the Super Hornet is destined to replace RAAF classic Hornets due to the failure of the F-35, how many can the taxpayer afford to keep in the air?

Right now, Super Hornets in the RAAF are trending at twice the cost per flying hour of classic Hornets.

So, instead of the RAAF expecting to have 72 aircraft fill this requirement, we can only afford about 36.

There is no extra federal money to go around.

Not in this entitlement society, deep in federal debt.
