The Center for Strategic and Budgetary Assessments has made a paper on how Australia could better commit military planning to assist in a war with the U.S. and China.
It doesn't address reality.
It starts out with one major flaw. It mentions Ross Babbage as helping out the authors.
On this topic, that is like putting a boat anchor around your neck and expecting to swim to the other side of a rapidly moving river with no problem
Babbage has provided nothing but bad military advice over the years to Australian government leadership.
He thinks the F-35 has value. He buys off on the assumption that Australia will have great net-centric warfare ability and does not mention that such nodes can be geo-located and killed. Or that an enemy in the form of China has net-centric ability of their own.
He things big expensive cruise missiles from subs (that Australia may never see due to deskilling in all areas of Defence management) are very important for deep strike. As opposed to an aircraft which can do it each and every day with long-range stand-off weapons.
The history of Babbage's comments in this area show he offers no real help in the matter. That covers one of the people the paper states thanks for help.
The paper uses the term "fifth-generation fighter". The F-35 is no such thing.
The report does not mention that the recent Defence White Papers are junk.
The authors of the paper show a weak understanding of topics covered by links listed below. All in all; a very poor paper that provides no real value.
