Wonder why U.S. force structure is so goofed up?

Another example of how goofed up things are. We have Coast Guard in an expeditionary role performing actions that should be done by the U.S. Navy or Marine Corps.

The Coast Guard is for homeland defense activity.

As some of you know, the Fifth Fleet of the United States Navy is responsible for naval forces in the Persian Gulf, Red Sea, Arabian Sea, and coast off East Africa.
