Increase in Defence spend not justified

Missing the point completely that the corrupt and incompetent Entrenched Defence Bureaucracy (EDB) needs to be reined in.

I have modified one of the charts from the link above and shown it below with my yellow line added.

Until the EDB can show hard, quality firepower for the money invested, along with demonstrated competence, the dollar-figure spent for Defence each year should not rise. If anything, there is room to cut.

Besides the fact that the country is billions in debt, the EDB shows no evidence of knowing what they are doing to justify increases in spending.

This means that there is little  difference between handing more money over to the EDB or throwing it on a bonfire.
