As Pete said, this is VERY sad news. USN Capt Lefon will be greatly missed, not only by his friends, colleagues, and family, but also by the many of us who enjoyed both his literary eloquence, and his shared wealth of experience as an elite naval aviator.
Lex had written the previous day about the close call he had because of thedrag chute on his F-21 Kfir failing, and now I see this picture of his jet embedded into building at NAS Fallon which suggests the braking system of the old plane may have failed again...
