Here is an example of the brave Afghan police.
We hear so much about their improvement.
The Australian Defence Minister Mr. Smith, the PM and others claim keeping Australian troops in Afghanistan is important. However, they can state nothing more than platitudes.

All our soldiers have bought us in Afghanistan with the lives and their injuries is time.
When - not if - the Taliban take control in Afghanistan after each Western nation each find its own face-saving exit strategy, (shades of Vietnam and 'Vietnamisation'), the Western world will be confronted with thousands of Afghans who fought on our side (and tens of thousands more who will SAY they fought on our side) demanding refugee status, and much like as it was post 1975, we will be hard put not to accept them all.
Pray to God (or Allah :) ) that they eventually fit in and become the asset that the vast majority of Vietnamese have become to the nation. Unfortunately, I fear it won't be so, although I sincerely hope time will prove me to be wrong - on all counts.
Amen to that prayer at the end of your post.
